CASIS Education

Student success in STEM disciplines hinges largely on their interest and motivation. CASIS believes that educators are key to helping catalyze and sustain students' interest and motivation. This website and our student site CASIS Academy are for you and your students. Together, they provide a wealth of experiences and resources to engage students in a variety of STEM subjects - all capitalizing on the real-world excitement of the International Space Station (ISS).
We want to help you foster and strengthen students' ability to pursue questions - to investigate, explore, and solve problems. (Our approach to education helps articulate this idea.) Our resources, such as the library of lesson plans, help you integrate into your classroom instruction the skills, knowledge, and mindsets for engaging in inquiry.
This entire CASIS website houses comprehensive resources devoted to the International Space Station National Laboratory (ISSNL), but it is this section, in particular, that is tailored to your needs as an educator. Please explore the numerous subsections to the left, as well as our student site CASIS Academy.
Join the CASIS Education community! Register below to receive "On Station" communication from CASIS, providing you with the most up-to-date news about research on the ISS. As every educator knows, real-world relevance is often a key component of elevating student interest in and understanding of concepts and skills that students experience in class. Additionally, you will receive notifications of updates to the education resources, to CASIS Academy, and any opportunities that are specific to educators. And of course, you can follow us on Facebook and Twitter!
